‘Forschungsgesellschaft für Arbeitsphysiologie und Arbeitsschutz e.V. Dortmund’ (legal entity name) is a research institution institutionally funded by the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is the sponsor of ’Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors at TU Dortmund’ (IfADo). IfADo explores the risks and potentials of modern work in interdisciplinary approaches. We combine the disciplines of Ergonomics, Immunology, Toxicology, Psychology and Neurosciences.
The Department of Ergonomics has a vacancy for a
PhD student (m/f/d)
to be filled (75%) at the earliest possible date. The position is limited to 3 years. The qualification goal is a doctorate. If a diploma or master's degree is not yet available, temporary employment as a research assistant may be considered.
- Scientific collaboration in a research project investigating the neuronal basis of stress using (electro-)physiological (EEG, ECG, hormone measurement) methods
- Follow-up on the question of how stress-induced changes in the brain can be measured in laboratory experiments and used to research stress-related illnesses
- Highly motivated graduates from a university/technical college with a diploma/master's degree in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science or a related subject
- Good scientific knowledge and a high level of interest in questions in the field of application-oriented research and basic biopsychological research
- English language skills
- Very good methodological skills
- Previous knowledge of Matlab and the acquisition and evaluation of electrophysiological data is desirable, but not a prerequisite
- Ability to work in a team, diligence and openness to working with test subjects
- A part-time position with currently 29,87 hours per week
- Remuneration according to the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (position value EG 13 TV-L. The classification depends on the collective agreement and personal requirements)
